Brighten your winter morning with a big dollop of juicy song!

A one-off community singing workshop in Risinghurst.
Open to all, especially those in the Risinghurst, Quarry and Barton areas. 
No singing experience needed, and no need to read music. 
We will learn fun and easy songs by ear. 

Led by Holly, a singing leader local to Risinghurst who recently completed a week-long training as a Natural Voice Practitioner.

I believe that singing is everybody’s birthright. For thousands of years all over the world people have sung — to express joy, celebration and grief, to aid healing, to accompany work, devotion and the rituals of life — without worrying about having a “good” voice or “getting it right”. Singing has been a part of life, a way of binding communities.
Creating an accepting community is an essential element of the Natural Voice approach: a community where singing together is a natural experience that is open and accessible to all.

Feel Good Singing
In the same way that exercise boosts endorphin flow, singing also releases the brain’s “feel good” chemical - resulting in a sense of euphoria, enhanced immune response, and a natural pain relief. Singing also triggers the release of oxytocin, which helps relieve anxiety and stimulates feelings of trust.

A note from Holly, the singing leader:

A note on the pricing:
There is a sliding scale from £7-13 to account for varying levels of access to resources. Please consider what you are able to contribute to the project. This model of offering is only sustainable when all are thoughtful and honest about where they fit at any given time.
