Flowers are all around us.
But somehow we take them for granted not stopping to think how much they are a part of our traditions and folklore, our literature and culture, and even our language. in the first half of the evening, Carole Petipher, who is a local lecturer, will reveal more in her new talk on flower folklore drawing on the wild flowers of the Chilterns.
After the interval, for your chosen food and to recharge your drinks at the licensed bar (operated by our sponsors - the Old Oak pub) , Martin Little, who manages the Jubilee Sensory Garden, will explain how the project has used flowers to stimulate the senses of garden visitors. He will explain that it's not just scents (smell), but also the look, feel and taste of flowers and plants which makes them so important as a sensory item. His part of the evening will include an update on last year's garden developments together with plans for 2025.
Doors open at 7:15pm with the talks starting at 7:45pm. Seating is on tables and you can reserve your seats and pay for your tickets on the link above
