About Alice and Nicola

Alice Hemming is the author of over sixty books for children from tots to teens. Her award-winning and number 1 New York Times bestselling Leaf Thief series with illustrator Nicola Slater (Scholastic 2020), has been translated into twenty-seven languages. Alice lives in Hertford and works in a writing shed in her garden, although she does sometimes venture out to visit schools.

Nicola Slater is an English illustrator best known for the multimillion-selling ‘Leaf Thief’ series with Alice Hemming, which has been translated into 27 languages globally. She studied illustration in Buckinghamshire and has since produced a great many picture books with esteemed authors and publishers. She lives in Manchester with her family and a potted plant.
