Home Start Hike 2027

STEP UP AND SUPPORT SUFFOLK FAMILIES
Sunday 18th April 2027

Everything begins with family. And no family should have to struggle alone.

By taking part in the Home-Start Hike, you will be helping Suffolk families take the first small steps towards confidence, support and a brighter future. Every mile walked and every pound raised helps Home-Start Suffolk open doors for parents and children facing challenging circumstances.

Whether you choose a gentle family-friendly route or take on a longer challenge, you will enjoy a memorable day in the Suffolk countryside while making a real difference to local families.

Hike Distances & Start Times

Choose from four scenic routes, each offering the opportunity to explore the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Discover landscapes that inspired Thomas Gainsborough, wander through historic towns and villages, and enjoy stunning valley views along the way.

All routes start and finish at Kingfisher Leisure Centre, Sudbury.

Meet Bluey on the 3-Mile Family Trail

Families joining our 3-mile walk can enjoy a fun-filled nature scavenger hunt along the route, with a prize for every child who takes part.

And there'll be an extra special visitor waiting to meet young hikers too... Bluey the dog!

Take Part as a Team

Everything's better together.

We're inviting local businesses, community groups, sports clubs, schools, and teams of friends and family to take on the Home-Start Hike as a team.

Teams can include up to six people, and participants can choose the distance that suits them best. Team members are welcome to walk different routes and at their own pace.

It's a fantastic opportunity to connect, support one another and make a difference for Suffolk families.

Refreshments & Support Along the Route

Refreshments will be available throughout the day at Kingfisher Leisure Centre.

For participants taking part in the 13-mile and 26-mile routes, aid stations will be positioned at approximately three-mile intervals, offering water, refreshments and encouragement to keep you going.

Home-Start Hike T-Shirts

Celebrate your achievement with an official Home-Start Hike T-shirt, available to purchase for both adults and children.

T-shirts can be collected when you sign in on event day. Changing facilities will be available at Kingfisher Leisure Centre.

Why Take Part?

Every family deserves to be seen, heard and supported without judgement. By joining the Home-Start Hike, you will help Home-Start Suffolk continue opening doors for families across the county and support them in taking those first small but significant steps towards the future they deserve.
