Collected Beauty Part III: Desire
Collected Beauty Part III: Desire
This is the third and final session in our series of workshops exploring beauty and aesthetics. In this one we’ll investigate the tipping point between desire and disgust. How do artists and writers use this tension in their work? How might you explore the murky waters of taboo that can bubble up when beauty, desire and ugliness overlap?
Join all three Collected Beauty workshops or pick and choose what works for you. They’re fun independently, but all three together make for a deep dive into the subject. Collected Beauty 1, on August 23, is a collective exploration of the subjective nature of beauty. In Collected Beauty 2, on September 10, we’ll work with the relationship between beauty, ugliness and transformation. And for Collected Beauty 3, on September 24, we’ll traverse the subject of desire and consider the ever-evolving role of beauty in art and writing.
Come spend a couple hours with Shayna and Daniel exploring beauty. No previous writing or art experience is necessary. Our workshops are process-oriented and fun for any level. Your facilitators are empathy-led educators focused on making a safe and inclusive working environment for everyone.
