Sat Mar 2, 2024 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Honor Fraser Gallery, 90034
Description
Please join us Saturday, March 2nd, at 2 PM for a conversation between artist Landon Ross and renowned British author and actor, Stephen Fry. Ross and Fry will discuss recent projects as well as themes surrounding the gallery's current exhibition, SMALL V01CE, curated by Jesse Damiani. Don't miss this unique opportunity to gain insight into the intersection of art and technology with two distinguished voices in the field.
Landon Ross is a Los Angeles artist working primarily in painting, sculpture, video, and installation. Ross’s work explores the ontology of mathematics, consciousness, the self, and seeks to explore origin-stories of a distinct epistemological stance: those derived from nature. The artist’s once-central role in channeling the human inclination for the transcendent or the sublime is one that Ross seeks to continue from within the framework of naturalism.
Stephen Fry is a British actor, comedian, writer, and advocate. He's known for his writing across novels, memoirs, and plays, including titles like "Moab Is My Washpot" and "Mythos: The Greek Myths Retold." Fry has also directed and authored works such as "Stephen Fry in America." On television, he's appeared in shows like "A Bit of Fry & Laurie" and "Jeeves and Wooster," while also hosting programs like "QI" and "Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive." An outspoken advocate for mental health awareness and LGBTQ+ rights, Fry's multifaceted career has left a lasting impact on entertainment and social discourse.
