Description
The general election took place on the 4th of July. We now have a new government and we want to see them create a legacy of positive action on the climate and nature crisis.
But what then?
The post-election period is an important point for citizens across the UK to communicate their concerns with their new or returning MPs and move climate and nature to the top of their agenda.
Join us at Hope for the Future as we walk you through a step by step guide to having powerful conversations with politicians. Our training will support you to make an impact, and set you up for a long term and fruitful relationship with your politician, with the aim of making vital policy change for climate and nature. We'll be covering:
- A new government 101 - a whistlestop tour of everything you need to know about the new government
- What it's like to be an MP in a new Government
- Hope for the Future's relationship based approach in the context of a new government
- The power and possibilities of building a relationship post-election
- Practical steps for how to go about welcoming your MP
- What can a new MP realistically do for you in the first 100 days?
- Relevant manifesto commitments which you may want to refer to
- Framing your ask for different political persuasions
We can't wait to see you there! The zoom link will be provided to you once you've signed up.

Can you support our work?
77% of the UK public think the UK government has a large responsibility in addressing the climate crisis. We deserve more from politics, but only 20-25% of people contact their elected representatives about any issue.
We exist to get more people involved in climate democracy but we can't do this without your support.
Our training is free so that everybody - no matter their background - can use their voice for powerful change.
By donating you can help more people contact their politicians for the first time. So if you can, please support our vital work today to ensure a better tomorrow.
