THE STORY OF BILAL IBN RABAH AL-HABASHI رضي الله عنه

Once the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “O Bilal, what special deeds you have done that I heard sounds of your walking steps ahead of me in Paradise.” Bilal said, “I did not do anything worth mentioning except that whenever I performed Wudu (ablution) during the day or night, I prayed after that ablution as much as was written for me (Tahayyatul Wudu).” (Sahih Al-Bukhari: 1149)

The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم used to describe Bilal عنه هللا رضي as "one of the inhabitants of Paradise". Bilal عنه هللاه رضي qualified for his certainty in faith, purity, truthfulness and humility. His self-sacrifice in accepting Islam earned him a lofty station in both worlds. He is one of the most remembered companions in history and one of the most trusted and loyal companions of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم who became the very first 'Muaddhin (caller to prayer) in Islam chosen by Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم .Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم trusted Bilal عنه هللا رضي to such degree that he was made responsible for Bait-al-Maal (Treasury).

While on his death bed, Bilal رضي الله عنه wife cried and said, ‘What a painful affliction’, to which Bilal replied, “What a great joy; Tomorrow I will meet with my loved ones, Mohammad ﷺ and his companions.”
