Hope Valley Art Trail By Rail 2026

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September 10am - 5pm

The Hope Valley Art Trail by Rail returns for its second year and takes place 26-27 September 2026. This is a unique event to the area, celebrating local creativity and sustainable travel. Everyone will be invited to travel on the Hope Valley railway line and local buses to hop on and off and explore local creativity village by village. 

When: The event runs 10am - 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, although individual venue opening times may vary.

What’s on: We have over 40 artists across 13 venues between six stations: Chinley, Edale, Hope, Bamford, Hathersage and Grindleford. They'll be art, refreshments, workshops, demonstrations and live music along the way. We will also have an activity booklet for all ages to complete along the trail and free workshops, demonstrations and refreshments.

And you can get creative too! We have an activity leaflet for you to take with you, and at our art venues you can contribute to our giant art mural, as well as take part in drop-in demonstrations and activities suitable for all ages.

How to plan your day: The trail is self-led, so you can explore at your own pace and visit as many or as few venues as you like. All venues and activities are free so you just need to cover the cost of your travel.

When you arrive, head to one of the participating venues to collect your printed trail map and sticker, which will help you plan your day. This will also be listed online before the event.
