Re-writing Our Future

Wed 30 Sep 2026 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM Hornbeam Centre, E17 9AH

Who gets to write our future?

What role do stories play in building collective hope and imagining a different world?

On Wednesday 30th September, 6.30pm - 9pm, join us for a gentle, creative evening where we will:

- hear storytelling tips from a local author
- try out creative writing exercises
- talk together about a hopeful future for Waltham Forest

A cooked meal will be included in the event too! Please let us know of any dietary requirements or food allergies when you sign up. The food will be a delicious Ugandan feast and will be vegetarian with plenty of vegan options.

Space is limited, so sign up to reserve your spot! If you can no longer attend, email candice@hornbeam.org.uk to let us know

Wellbeing and Accessibility:

- There will be space for people to share what they've written during the exercises, but it will not be mandatory. Feel free to come along, reflect, dream, write or just listen! Whatever you are comfortable with

- The space is step-free and has a wheelchair accessible toilet. If you have any questions or access needs you would like to make us aware of, you can email: candice@hornbeam.org.uk

- covid tests and masks will be provided

- If you would like to come, but the cost of getting transport to the event is stopping you, email: candice@hornbeam.org.uk. We have some budget to cover transport

- You are welcome to bring children along to the event. Please reserve a child ticket so we have an idea of who is coming and try to arrange for childcare or children-friendly activities

This event is made possible with funding from Future Waltham Forest, hosted by Hornbeam and part of our Extended Table Project
