Adderstone House Open Garden 2025
Sun 6 Apr 2025 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM BST + 1 more date
Adderstone House, Belford, NE70 7HS
Description
Dr and Mrs John and Pauline Clough are generously opening their gardens in support of HospiceCare North Northumberland.
They are delighted to share with you their efforts to turn 10 acres of farmland into gardens which complement a lovely early Victorian farmhouse. John and Pauline are 18 years into the project and it continues to be a work in progress.
The cherry blossom in the gardens is a spectacular sight in April and features the Prunus Tai-Haku giant white cherry blossoms in the Japanese Garden and various yellow and pink cherry blossoms throughout. Nothing can be guaranteed in a garden but there are generous swathes of flowering bulbs which add colour and form a delightful display of Spring flowers.
Half of the vineyard has been replanted and it is hoped that the grapes will be suitable for making sparkling wine as they mature.
Features include mixed borders, walled garden, orchard, woodland garden, rose walk, formal garden, dry border, boathouse folly, lakeside walk, stream, Japanese garden and Tea house, Shepherd’s Hut bird hide and vineyard.
Adderstone House is accessed from the A1 turning right from the South or left from the North along a no through road. Please see the map below for further information.
