Holding Space for Yourself while You Are Holding Space for Others
Holding Space for Yourself while You Are Holding Space for Others
Need help?
Holding space is what we do when we walk alongside someone on their journey without trying to direct, control, or judge them. It's an essential practice for anyone involved in hospice care. But sometimes holding space can take an emotional toll on us and we have to be reminded to hold space for ourselves too. In this webinar, we'll explore the practice of holding space both for those we support and for ourselves.
This live online presentation is presented by Heather Plett who is the author of the award-winning book The Art of Holding Space: A Practice of Love, Liberation, and Leadership and the recently released book, Where Tenderness Lives: On Healing, Liberation, and Holding Space for Oneself. She is the co-founder of the Centre for Holding Space. An international speaker, facilitator, and writer, whose work has been referenced in such notable publications as Harvard Business Review, The Today Show, and Psychology Today. Before launching her work in holding space, Heather worked in leadership and communications in government and non-profit. Having spent her adult life in Winnipeg, where she raised her three daughters, Heather has recently moved to Vancouver Island.
