Bob Parke is a Bioethicist who is a member of the Clinical Advisory Committee of Ontario's Palliative Care Network. His presentation will highlight the work underway to improve palliative care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PWIDD). Although PWIDD represent a relatively small percentage of the overall population, they are overrepresented in emergency departments and may die in places where they are unknown and would not want to be. Join us to learn about tools and practices that support earlier identification, assessment and helping PWIDD participate more fully in planning their care.
