Pantomime Horse Race - Chester Racecourse 2026

The iconic Pantomime Horse Race returns to Chester Racecourse this year on Family Fun Day, raising vital funds for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. This much‑loved charity spectacle features 20 costumed characters including unicorns, reindeer, pantomime horses, donkeys, cows and even a polar bear all racing down the final furlong of Chester’s historic course.

As the first race of the day, the Panto Horse Race kicks off an exciting afternoon and leads into a full six‑race card. It’s a brilliant fundraiser supporting the hospice’s essential end‑of‑life care for local individuals and families.
