Join Hospitable Environment at the historic Marine Workshops. Up on the panoramic top floor, you'll be a part of a creative workshop exploring what a community needs and values. Help us to dream and model the kind of town we'd like to live in, and become part of our co-created exhibition exploring people, place and the power of shared ideas.

We will be making time for some serious play and asking you to let your imagination and creativity join in with the conversation. We believe in the power of working intergenerationally, so children and adults are welcome to work side by side at all of the workshops.

As always, hospitality is part of our practice, so refreshments will be provided, and you can even join us for a free light vegetarian lunch at 1pm then the afternoon workshop will start at 1:30pm.

The artworks and exhibition that we make together - Newhaven: The People's Plan - will be open to the public for Artwave on the weekends 14th & 15th and 21st and 22nd of September. Your work will also be showcased as part of The People's Knowledge Exchange on the 26th September. An event we are hosting with a series of speakers, academic researchers and public health commissioners that explores how connected communities and shared creativity can lead to healthier lives.

You do not need to live in Newhaven to get involved, you just need to care about community and the power of people to shape their own future.

The Marine Workshops are on the riverside just by the ferry port entrance and just two minutes walk from Newhaven Town railway station and bus stop. Come to the entrance of the Marine Workshops on the quayside. [Follow the signs for Mamoosh / BN9 Studio. You are also invited to a special Soup & Social that we will host on the top floor of the Marine Workshops on the 21st September, from 2pm-4pm. This free shared meal and community conversation is open to everyone, so bring all your friends. No need to book for the Soup & Social.
