Advancing Open Science in Neuroscience

The 7^th Annual Open Science in Action Symposium will be hosted by the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI) at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, in partnership with the Tanenbaum Open Science Institute (TOSI) and McGill University. This national event brings together researchers, trainees, institutional leaders, and open science advocates to explore how transparency, collaboration, and accessibility are reshaping the research landscape.

Building on the success of previous symposia, this year’s program will focus on practical applications of Open Science across the research lifecycle; from ethics applications through analysis and real-world impact.

Attendees can expect a full day of engaging presentations and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and highlight leadership in neuroscience and mental health research.

Call for Abstracts

We are pleased to announce that trainee abstract submissions are now open! This year, we are excited to offer three unique presentation formats: Traditional Posters, Virtual Posters and One-Minute Video submissions. 

Our goal is to encourage you to think outside of the box and share your science in accessible, engaging ways. 

Trainee Presentations Will Have Prizes For 4 Categories!
1. Crowd Favourite Virtual or Traditional Poster - $100 gift card
2. Crowd Favourite Video - $100 gift card
3. Most Creative or Out of the Box Video - $50 gift card
4. Most Exciting or Novel Virtual or Traditional Poster - $50 gift card
