A festival of sin inside a city of sin. Sounds like you need us, New Orleans.
We gathered in New York City, and our rooms were full. Now we’ve been called somewhere new.
New Orleans Fringe Festival, we’re on our way.
A note from our Founder:
“It doesn’t get much more fringe than us.”
What to expect: We will check you in inside the Grand Hall of the New Orleans Healing Center at the base of the stairs. During the preshow you'll be immersed in the world of The One True Way: members and even Founder himself may greet you. Direct participation is optional. You can feel free to observe from a distance. Just before 7pm, we’ll make our way to the second level of the Healing Center to Studio Shakti, our community space. Here the experience will transition into a seated play.
The Pros & Cons of Killing Your Cult Leader, written by Bobbi Twiggs, was developed in 2023 for The Weird Sisters Theatre Project in Atlanta, GA.
Content note: The play explores religious trauma, and coercive control. It includes brief verbal references to sexual assault and discussions of past abuse including the abuse of minors. No sexual violence is depicted onstage.
