Striptease Tricks and Tips with our very own British Burlesque Legend - Goodtime Mama Jojo!

This workshop is for EVERY body (regardless of age (18+), shape, size, or ability)
You do NOT need to have any dance training to take part.
No nudity (unfortunately ;)) but we may be gyrating about in our bras or vests!

Please bring a shirt or blouse that buttons down the front. You can wear a t-shirt or vest top underneath if you so wish.

Mama Jojo will be sharing her knowledge of “The Tease” or as she also likes to call it - “Stripper Psychology”.

This workshop will include:
1. Connection and eye contact - How, when, and where to look.
2. The importance of facial expressions and what they convey.
3. The all-important “TEASE” factor - how to make the smallest of movements alluring and tantalising.
4. How to strip out of a shirt (an item that almost everyone owns).
5. The power of the caress - be prepared to touch yourself…not like that!
6. A sensual, fun routine incorporating everything you have been shown.

Mama Jojo is an international burlesque striptease performer, mentor, teacher, and choreographer. She is also a compère, confidence-coach, and motivational speaker.

Her varied and exciting career began in the late 1970s when she worked as a “Burlesque striptease artiste” in London's infamous West End's cabaret clubs. She went on to work all over the UK in pubs, clubs, and theatres for leading cabaret agents and corporate clients. To enhance her performances she studied acting, comedy improvisation, and contemporary dance. In the late 80s and 90's she also performed in Germany, Italy, and Spain (where she lived for a while).

In 2000, realising the therapeutic benefits of her craft, she founded the very first schools in the UK and Europe to teach the art of striptease, burlesque, and pole-dancing. Her self-imposed mission was, and still is, to help people to feel fabulous regardless of age, shape, size or ability. Her vision and hard work has indisputably played a huge part in the acceptance and recognition of these erotic art-forms.

Mama Jojo's work has inspired, and empowered thousands of people world-wide. She has taught, mentored and/or choreographed hundreds of professional performers (past and present) including: International Showgirl Immodesty Blaize, Miss Polly Rae, Bettsie Bon Bon, Legs Malone, Sapphira, Evelyn Carnate, Athena Beavoir, Velvet Jones, Ivy Paige, and countless others.

It is Mama Jojo's all-inclusive ethos and can-do attitude that made her the go-to person when Graeae - the inclusive theatre company - wanted an expert to teach burlesque to three of their disabled actors who are also wheelchair users. She designed and tailored unique courses for the students who performed two wonderful shows as a result of their training. Mama Jojo was later hired to teach and choreograph the blind and partially-sighted mixed-sex cast of Extant's challenging production “Sheer”. She also taught and choreographed a group of men (with a variety of disabilities) for the award-winning documentary “The Crippendales”. She considers these pieces of work among her greatest achievements.

In June of 2008 Mama Jojo was invited to perform at the world famous Burlesque Hall of Fame’s (BHOF) Annual Reunion Showcase in Las Vegas, where she was celebrated as a burlesque legend. She was the first British performer to be awarded this recognition which was a great honour and a huge career highlight.

In 2024 she was invited to return to BHOF to perform, once again, and after her sinsational performance at the 67th Annual Titans & Icons of Tease Reunion Showcase, Samson Night, 2023's winner of Mx-Exotic World said that Mama Jojo's performance was “A master-class in burlesque!”

Goodtime Mama Jojo is unapologetically passionate about every aspect of her craft and she intends to continue on her sexy path of creativity “Keeping the TEASE alive!” for as long as she's got snap in her suspenders!
