HEY BGSH, Skills Network Event

The HEY Business Growth and Skills Hub are pleased to announce that we will be holding our next Skills Network event on Tuesday 1st October 2024. The event will be held at the Conference Hall, Bishop Burton College, York Road, Beverley, HU17 8QG. Arrival is from 12:30pm onwards, with a 1:00pm start and 4:00pm finish.

There will be a two-part agenda that will focus the ‘professionalism in the further education and skills sector’ ‘where next for the SEND Reforms and ‘Accessible Apprenticeships'.

We are pleased to confirm the following guest speakers:

The CEO for the Education Training Foundation will be giving an update on 'professionalism in the further education and skills sector’.

The Association of Colleges will be discussing 'where next for the SEND Reforms'. 

During the second part of the meeting we will hear from Anne McLoughlin, the Head of Business Development and Projects at Dynamic Training. Anne will be discussing 'Accessible Apprenticeships' and how these are no longer only available for individuals with an EHCP. Specifically, we'll hear about how apprenticeships can be made more accessible through minimal reasonable adjustment, allowing flexibilities in qualifications, timeframe, and now within English and math's entry requirements. Followed by a Round Table discussion.

You’ll also hear about the Provider Access Legislation (PAL) developed to ensure young people benefit from meaningful encounters with providers of apprenticeships and technical education from the HEY BGSH Careers Enterprise Company. In addition to the latest on the HEY BGSH, Skills Boards and Policy updates.
