HumanEx are proud to offer another internationally recognised and accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course to Aotearoa.

This practical and engaging programme equips participants with the skills and confidence to recognise when someone may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to respond safely, appropriately, and supportively.

WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?

Mental Health First Aid teaches people how to provide early support to someone who may be developing a mental health issue or experiencing a mental health crisis.

Participants learn how to recognise signs and symptoms associated with challenges such as:

  • • Depression
  • • Anxiety
    • Panic attacks
    • Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
    • Psychosis
  • • Substance misuse

Mental Health First Aid support is provided until appropriate professional help is received, or the situation improves.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Everyone. This course is suitable for anyone wanting to better support the people around them — whether in the workplace, community, whānau, or everyday life.

No prior experience or knowledge is required.

This training is ideal for people who want to:
• Recognise early warning signs of mental ill health
• Feel more confident having supportive conversations
• Learn how to approach someone safely and respectfully
• Better understand mental health and wellbeing
• Support others while also maintaining their own wellbeing and boundaries

WHAT DO OTHERS SAY?

“The MHFA course through HumanEx was incredibly valuable and well run. While much of the content was familiar to me due to prior study, it was taught in a practical way that allowed me to put the theory into practice. I highly recommend this course if you want to feel better equipped to support those around you through tough times.”
