The Council of Europe’s Chișinău Process, a political initiative aimed at reshaping how key ECHR rights are interpreted, particularly in migration and expulsion cases, has raised concerns about potential restrictions on access to Article 3 and other Convention protections.
Join us for an online discussion hosted by the Human Rights Consortium and FLAC exploring the Council of Europe’s Chișinău Process and its potential implications for the European Convention on Human Rights and, in turn, the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement and access to Convention rights in the UK and Ireland.
With expert contributions from Professor Natasa Mavronicola University of Birmingham, Alyson Kilpatrick Chief Commissioner at the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and Professor Andrew Forde Dublin City University, we will examine emerging risks to Convention rights and what they may mean for civil society and others across these islands.
Open to all.
