AI meets Heart of Agile, Utrecht
AI meets Heart of Agile, Utrecht

Agile has become overly decorated. Simplifying it to just the four words: Collaborate, Deliver, Reflect, Improve, recovers the original sense of the movement, makes the concept more powerful, and also easier to get started with.
AI, or LLM-driven development, looks to mess everything up, though. It changes the work of everyone in the development chain, and changes the conversations.
The question on the table is, how does agile, even the "Heart of Agile", change, given the use of AI.
Prolific author, technical expert, and insightful teacher Dr. Alistair Cockburn will be in Utrecht again this October, with the 2-day masterclass on that subject.
Here is what two people said after attending Alistair's masterclasses:
- "Alistair re-ignited my passion for agile." -- Tony Ponton
- "People walk away with more insight with which to advance their own agility and those of the people around them."
- “By lunchtime you knew there is no going back.”
This event is a conversation, a workshop, an experience. The key is
the power of the concepts introduced. Each concept is introduced with
activities to help anchor them.
Who Should Attend:
People from any industry looking to modernize and improve their
team’s way of working. No prior knowledge of any field, industry or
practice is needed, only curiosity and a desire to improve.
Level: Aimed for beginner and Intermediate practitioners, any industry or role. Additionally, experienced people say they gained many new insights from Alistair's unusual presentation of known topics.
Location: Lab Digital
Reykjavikstraat 1
3543 KH Utrecht
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday & Tuesday, October 6 & 7
Cost: EUR 1,050
Workshop contents:
- Do some work in teams using AI/LLM tools. Vibe or careful coding, using any LLM you like;
- Discuss how conversations change in the context of LLM-driven development.
- Learn how the 4 words: "Collaborate, Deliver, Reflect, Improve" live in the new development cycle.
- Learn ways to improve collaboration in the new team conversations.
- Learn to micro-improve to every aspect.
- Learn how to slice projects and initiatives into thin slices;
- How to hold a “reflective improvement” workshop to improve the team’s actions.
This workshop gives those attendees new to agile an appreciation for the power of agile development when done effectively, as well as the importance of each of the core elements, Collaborate, Deliver, Reflect, Improve. It gives those attendees already familiar with agile a chance to investigate how LLM-driven development will change their conversations, and how to deal with the new problems using collaboration and reflection tools.
