Home Educating Families: seasonal fun
An informal session for Home Educating families to connect with each other and with nature at Hurst Farm. Sessions may include walks, nature exploration, practical conservation activities, wildlife recording, seasonal crafts, opportunities to learn about the heritage landscape.
Activities vary from month to month and will be adapted to the season, weather and interests of the group. Specific details for each session will be provided when available.
November: For our first session we'll be focusing on getting to know the area and each other. We'll walk the Hurst Farm Heritage Trail (approximately 3km), stopping along the way to identify trees, look for wildlife and explore habitats. We'll also use the Places&Trails and iRecord apps, which we'll use to discover points of interest and record wildlife sightings for the local biological recording team. If you'd like to actively use these during the session, you can download the apps before attending. We'll also bring litter pickers and spend some time discussing ideas for future sessions.
Meet at the Farmer's Community Garden.
