A talk and discussion by Dr Gareth Dean, Conservation & Maintenance Manager and Jonathan Mott & Robert Hebdige, Arctic Glaze about the Port Sunlight experience of conserving energy in a village of listed buildings.

Conserving energy in listed and traditional buildings is challenging. One needs to conserve the historic fabric and satisfy the planners. The EPC results of the project at Port Sunlight will be presented both before and after the installation of additional loft insulation and sympathetic secondary glazing. It is suggested that this is a simple way of reducing energy consumption in traditional buildings and those in conservation areas. The challenges of installing other renewable energy resources will also be discussed.

The meeting is hosted by Hope Valley Climate Action Energy Group.
