Hopetown 2040: Tackling a 'Tomorrow Problem'
What’s on offer?
Come and play a serious game about tackling the ‘tomorrow problem’ of healthy ageing! Players will join teams to make decisions about services, housing and care for the residents of Hopetown.
What’s it about?
This event will be a fun way to experience the challenges and solutions of developing communities that support healthy ageing, which is a ‘tomorrow problem’ that will affect us all!
Who’s leading the event?
The event will be led by Professor Vikki McCall and Professor Alasdair Rutherford, and run by the social enterprise Socialudo.
Open to
The game is open to everyone – we are all ageing! The game is aimed at adults, but younger participants aged 12 to 15 could join if accompanied by an adult.
Of particular interest to
Anyone who would like to help think about how we can tackle the challenges of creating age-friendly communities for the future, and have fun doing it.

The event is part of the Festival of Social Science, organised by the University of Stirling. See other events in the programme, running between 19 October and 7 November 2024.
