Thruxton Car Skills Day AM (plus Skid Pan PM) 2026

IAM RoadSmart’s Skills Day Plus gives drivers the chance to enhance their driving abilities in their own car, combining track time on the renowned Thruxton Circuit with hands-on practical sessions on the Thruxton Skid Pan.

Designed to improve your driving skills and safety in a variety of conditions, the day provides personalised, one-on-one instruction from IAM RoadSmart-qualified instructors on the circuit. On the Skid Pan, Instructors will guide you through slippery surface control, helping you develop the confidence to handle challenging situations safely. You will use your own car in this safe learning environment.

Your Day at a Glance

• Morning – Circuit Session: Hone precision driving techniques in a controlled environment, applying skills that can improve your everyday driving

• Afternoon – Skid Pan Session: Instructors will guide you through slippery surface control —essential skills for real-world road safety.

These sessions are open to both IAM RoadSmart members and non-members, making it the perfect opportunity for drivers of all levels to boost confidence, improve safety, and enjoy an exciting day on track.
