Queertástico is IATI Theater’s vibrant platform for LGBTQ+ artists and interdisciplinary performance. As part of Ágora 2026, this evening brings together bold voices, experimental forms, and electrifying performances that celebrate queer creativity and community.

The program highlights artists working across theater, music, poetry, and performance art. Through humor, vulnerability, and imagination, Queertástico creates a joyful and inclusive space where stories of identity, resilience, and transformation take center stage.

About the Artists

Chico Raro / Jei Fabiano (they/them)
Chico Raro is a queer Latin punk and genre-bending project based in Brooklyn, led by Colombian artist Jei Fabiano. Blending punk, electronic music, and disco with theatrical performance, their work challenges norms while celebrating queer identity, resistance, and collective joy.

Edu Díaz (he/him/él)
Award-winning theatermaker, actor, and producer from the Canary Islands, Edu Díaz creates visually striking performances that blend drag, clown, and magical realism. A Fulbright grantee based in New York, his work explores identity, displacement, and audience complicity through bold theatrical forms.

Flower Estefana Rios (she/her)
Theater artist, writer, musician, and nightlife performer based in Brooklyn, Flower Estefana Rios has trained with INTAR Unit 52, LAByrinth Theater Company, and R.Evolución Latina. Her multidisciplinary work spans performance, writing, and music.

Paola Assad Barbarino (she/they/don’t care)
Poet and visual artist from Caracas, Paola Assad Barbarino explores diasporic memory and transformation through language and performance. Her debut book Todo Menos Invierno has been presented internationally, and her work has been featured at major poetry and performance festivals.

Ágora is IATI Theater’s week-long festival bringing together its signature community programs — Queertástico, Mujerstory, and Tertulia — alongside workshops, readings, and participatory events.

Taking place at IATI’s East Village home, the festival creates a shared space for artistic exchange, interdisciplinary performance, and community dialogue.
