About the Workshop

Tip Jar to Salary is an interactive workshop designed to help working artists strengthen their financial practices and move toward more sustainable income.

Through practical exercises and guided discussion, participants will explore negotiation strategies, boundary-setting language, and tools for tracking income and managing freelance work. The session focuses on empowering artists to advocate for fair pay while building healthier professional habits.

Participants will practice real-world scenarios, develop a personalized rate template, and leave with a simple action plan for strengthening financial stability in their creative careers.

About the Instructor

Tanya Perez is a Nuyorican playwright, performer, filmmaker, and teaching artist whose work has been presented Off-Broadway and nationally. Her work appears in The Best 10-Minute Plays of 2024 (Smith & Kraus), and she is a NYC Arts in Education Roundtable Teaching Artist Fellow.
