Smartphone Astrophotography Virtual Exhibit

In May 2023, the International Astronomical Union Office for Astronomy Outreach held a series of workshops on smartphone astrophotography. The same year, we collaborated with the IAU Office of Astronomy for Education to sponsor a category of their astrophotography competition dedicated to photographs of the sky taken with smartphones or mobile devices.

This year, we worked with The Future of Meetings to build a virtual exhibition space that honours the contributions of the winners and honourable mentions for this category. Just like browsing through a physical art museum, you can admire the artwork, discuss with other participants, and learn about the photographers and their work – perhaps from the photographers themselves – all while minimising your carbon footprint.
