Building a sustainable bioeconomy
in the north-west

We help businesses, universities, and communities turn research into practical solutions that create a fairer, healthier and greener world.

01 We bring the community together
through regular networking events, seminars and knowledge exchange opportunities.

02 We fund innovation
through a range of schemes designed to translate academic research into industrial application.

03 We advocate for the UK's bioeconomy
through active policy engagement both regionally and nationally.

Co-created by the north-west's leading universities

IBIC was co-created by The University of Manchester's Manchester Institute of Biotechnology and the University of Liverpool in collaboration with the University of Salford, Manchester Metropolitan University, Liverpool John Moores University and regional civic and business partners including Sister.
