A fan, a scandal, and a whirlwind of wit.

Step into the world of Victorian high society with Oscar Wilde’s sharp and sparkling comedy, Lady Windermere's Fan. First performed in 1892, this play weaves a tale of secrets, scandal, and biting humor. Lady Windermere believes her husband is unfaithful, and in a flurry of misunderstanding, fan-flipping, and Wilde’s signature wit, reputations are on the line. But in the end, all may not be as it seems.

Directed by Matthew Balam, this production promises to deliver the wit, elegance, and biting social commentary that Wilde is famous for  and some of the finest dialogue ever penned for the stage.

Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere's Fan premiered on February 20, 1892, at St. James’s Theatre in London. A triumph of wit and sharp societal critique, it solidified Wilde's reputation as a master of the comedy of manners, and received critical acclaim for its biting dialogue and exploration of Victorian morality.

The themes of Lady Windermere’s Fan address gender roles, public versus private morality, and societal hypocrisy.. Wilde’s razor-sharp commentary on class and reputation feels as fresh in the 21st century as it did in the Victorian era, reminding audiences of the complexities of human behavior and the enduring need for compassion in a judgmental world.
