Agenda:
12.00-12.05 Welcome - Jade Maloney, Operations Manager, IHSCM
12.05-12.25 Keynote Speaker - A throwback to more than 25 years in the NHS and Public Health with Sue Henry, Director of MSH Partnership and Co-Chair of the Women in Leadership SIG.
Sue Henry is a transformational change and wellbeing consultant who works with individuals and businesses to improve their health and happiness. She provides coaching, training, and consultancy services for organisations and leaders. Sue has over 25 years of experience in the NHS, where she led various projects and initiatives to enhance staff wellbeing and performance.
Sue will be interviewed for our first live recording of the soon to launch Women in Leadership Podcast series; to empower the voices of women in health and social care who are in leadership roles or aspire to be. Women from the group will be our guests for the first series. Dr Claire Mould FIHSCM and Chimeme Egbutah will host the first series, and they too will be interviewed as part of the series.
Questions that will be asked include:
1. Why did you want to work in the sector?
2. Who where/are your inspirations?
3. What is your current life and work goal/aspirations?
4. What motivates you?
And the big question: What is your key message for those in the audience who aspire to be a leader in health and social care? You'll be enlightened by the answer.

12.25-12.45 Masterclass - Empowering Menopause through workplace support, with Jacqui McBurnie, North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board Menopause Lead, Founder and Former Chair of the NHS England Menopause Network, member of the Cross Government Menopause Network Executive Steering Committee; winners of the 2019 Civil Service Health and Wellbeing Award, and Urgent and Emergency Care Programme Manager (North East & Yorkshire Region).
In founding the NHS Menopause Network at a time when menopause was widely referred to as ‘taboo’, Jacqui had to build a community and a narrative about a topic that was (and in some aspects still is) quite unpopular. Jacqui also saw challenges in recognition of menopause, recognition of the impact of menopause for many colleagues and a lack of accepting menopause as a priority. Despite this, Jacqui has established and built a national network that has continued to champion menopause workplace support both within the NHS and politically, supporting a change in workplace culture.

13.35-13.55 Masterclass - We've Come a Long Way, with Dr Maggie Helliwell, Non-executive Director at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
This conference aims to empower our women in leadership’s voices, and this final session will consolidate the lessons learned, leaving you feeling inspired, motivated and with new connections.
Maggie will talk about her life, why she wanted to work in the care sector, who were/ are her inspirations, what motivates her, what was it like ‘then’ vs ‘now’ for women in leadership – barriers, inspirations, supporters. Her key takeaway will surprise some. Many of us are leading unconsciously, and creating awareness of this can make the idea of being in a leadership role less daunting for those who aspire to be our future leaders in health and social care.
Dr Maggie Helliwell has been a Non-executive Director at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) since 2007. Maggie currently holds the position of Vice Chair at NICE, where she oversees the Technology Appraisal Appeal process. With 40 years of experience working in the NHS, Dr Helliwell is also a practising GP in West Yorkshire. Previously, she served as a national GP advisor to the Department of Health and held the role of Medical Director & Clinical Governance Lead at a Primary Care Trust. Additionally, Dr. Helliwell has been recognised for her contributions to NICE and received the Distinguished Contribution to NICE Award. Her expertise and dedication continue to impact healthcare decisions and policies positively.
