IHSCM Women in Leadership Special Interest Group Meeting
Thu 19 Sep 2024 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM BST
Online, Microsoft Teams
Description
Join us for our Women in Leadership Special Interest Group Meeting; this meeting will take the shape of a workshop Sisters Doing It For Themselves: Stereotypes About Leadership Style.
Amanda Reynolds FRSA, Founder & Director of Blend Associates Ltd and guest speaker Narinder Gill aim to bring women in similar situations together in a supportive environment for group coaching. Women may be expected to conform to certain leadership styles, which can limit their authenticity and effectiveness and women may also be judged more harshly than men for the same behaviours or decisions. Women often face ‘double standards’ where assertiveness is seen as negative, yet passivity is also criticised. Join us as we combat the microaggressions and subtle discriminatory behaviours, such as dismissive comments or exclusion, which can accumulate and impact women’s confidence and well-being.
Amanda runs her own strategy and coaching practice Blend Associates Ltd with access to a faculty of 30+ coaches. She has a special interest in supporting women leaders to thrive. She began her career as a mental health nurse and ran a number of clinical services throughout her career up to board level in the NHS. Amanda holds a master’s Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring (ILM 7) and is a certified MBTI (Myers Briggs), TKI conflict practitioner and PROPHET Executive Team psychometric profiling. She also holds a CEDR certificate in Employment & Workplace mediation. Amanda is a published author and holds an MBA. Amanda brings an up-to-date knowledge of the leadership challenges of complex organisations. Amanda has experience in UK national and local government, the National Health Service, education (UK & USA), the not for profit and the private sectors. She can offer coaching, board facilitation and strategy consultancy. During the pandemic Amanda created, recruited, and has led a coaching faculty coaching senior NHS individuals and teams. The work has been evaluated and shared widely showing the impact of COVID on NHS managerial and clinical senior leaders.
Narinder has worked for over two decades in the educational field, successfully leading three schools as a head teacher. Her last school was the subject of her recent publication Creating Change in Urban settings which charts the journey and impact of curriculum and leadership development during challenging times. Narinder is a Strategic Director for the Curriculum Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation that provides curriculum-related support, advice and guidance to schools, school systems, government organisations and ministries worldwide. Since 2015 Narinder has been working on the development of the Curriculum in South Sudan. As an accredited executive business coach, Narinder has also worked alongside schools, Trusts and the private sector to design and deliver bespoke leadership programmes with a focus upon optimising wellbeing and resilience. She has been a development coach for Ambition Institute supporting the Future Leaders programme and currently works as the School Improvement Director.
