Ikebana International Washington D.C. Chapter 1 is pleased to announce an Ikebana workshop for children ages 8-15. No previous experience is needed.
Ikebana is the art of Japanese floral design. It is distinguished by the simple and creative use of flowers, lines and space to create dynamic compositions. Using only a few simple materials, participants will be shown how to make their own Ikebana flower arrangements to take home and share.
Designed to help youngsters ‘get into nature’, the Ikebana workshop is part of the I.I. Chapter 1 Youth Arts Initiative, which seeks to build creativity through nature.
$10 material cost. Online registration is required.
