Ikebana International DC Chapter 1 Youth Education Program is pleased to announce an Ikebana (the art of Japanese floral design) class for children ages 8-15 on Sunday April 16 from 1-2:30 PM in the Administrative Building Classroom of the National Arboretum. No previous experience is needed--only a love of nature and the desire to express oneself creatively through flowers.
Ikebana is the art of Japanese floral design. It is distinguished by the simple and creative use of flowers, lines and space to create dynamic compositions. Using only a few simple materials, participants will be shown how to make their own Ikebana flower arrangements to take home and share.
$10 material cost. Online registration is required.
