We are delighted to invite you to an Ohara School of Ikebana Washington DC Chapter seminar with Sensei Hiroko Matsuki, Assistant Professor, the Council of Ohara Professors, Tokyo, Japan. The seminar will be on Saturday, June 13th in McLean, VA and Sunday, June 14th in Rockville MD. Each day has two different classes.

This is a wonderful and rare opportunity to study Ohara Ikebana with a professor who has trained under the direct instructions of the Ohara Headquarters and it is held in our area! Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Day 1 - Saturday, June 13

Space is limited to 30 students.

Fee: $225 (including 2 classes, flower materials and lunch)

Day 1 Schedule Overview

  • 9:00 AM – Doors open
  • 9:30 AM – Morning Class
  • 12:30 PM – Lunch break
  • 1:00 PM – Afternoon Class
  • 4:00 PM – Closing Remarks, Clean-up
  • 4:30 PM – Workshop ends

Day 2 - Sunday, June 14

This is a more intimate setting and limited to 19 attendees.

  • 9:00 AM – Morning Class 1
  • 11:00 AM - Morning Class 2
  • 1:00 PM – Light Lunch & Clean-up
  • 2:30 PM – Workshop ends

Registration Details

You must be a member of one of the following: 1) the Ohara School of Ikebana, Washington DC Chapter OR 2) another Ohara School chapter OR 3) Ikebana International Chapter 1.  If you are not currently a member of one of the three organizations above, we would like you to join the Ohara Washington DC Chapter.  To join our chapter please click here.

Seminar fee
 - Day 1: $225 (ticket includes two class sessions, plant materials, and lunch)
Seminar fee - Day 2: $260 (ticket includes two class sessions, plant materials, and lunch)
Registration deadline
: May 29, 2026, or until tickets are sold out
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged!

Cancellation Policy

Before April 13, full refund of the seminar fee.
Between April 13 and May 12
, 50% refund of the seminar fee
After May 13
the seminar fee is non-refundable.

About Hiroko Matsuki

Ms. Matsuki began her professional career in Ikebana studies over 23 years ago in Tokyo, Japan. She has been an instructor at the Ohara Headquarters since 2014, and in 2016 she was appointed to Assistant Professor of the Council of Ohara Professors as well as Senior Officer of the Tokyo Chapter of the Ohara School. The Council is the core repository of the Ohara curriculum and is directly overseen by Headmaster Hiroki Ohara. Ms. Matsuki is an international emissary of the Ohara Headquarters, conducting seminars and demonstrations in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Belgium and India.
