Greta Pistaceci-(Theremin)
I am a multidisciplinary artist, performer and improviser whose practice had its start-point in sound.
An interest in the idea of intuition underpins my current work. Intuition as an intelligence – a complex tangle of ideas that cannot be immediately unpacked but work as a shortcut, enabling one to instantly decide and act, and carrying both positive and negative potential. Two further related threads also run through my earlier work: firstly, an interest in the potentially transformative power of art and its commonalities with therapy; secondly, a concern with communication and muting, with bringing out possible hidden or subjugated messages. I have a First Class Honours BA degree in Sound Arts & Design and a Sound Art MA from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.
