Siena & San Gimignano Day Trip

Relive the field trips that were such a memorable part of our year in Florence with a full-day excursion through Tuscany to San Gimignano and Siena.

We’ll travel together by private Alterini coach from Florence to San Gimignano, where you’ll have time to explore the medieval towers, piazzas, shops, cafés, and views of the surrounding countryside. From there, we’ll continue to Siena for lunch and an afternoon of independent sightseeing before returning to Florence in the early evening.

Transportation is free, courtesy of an anonymous classmate donation.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of a member of our Il Gruppo ’76 family, transportation for our November 11 excursion to San Gimignano and Siena is being provided at no charge to everyone attending.

The donation covers private coach transportation. Lunches, refreshments, museum and church admissions, and other personal expenses are not included and remain each participant’s responsibility.

Please register again using the new Free Reservation ticket, even if you previously reserved or purchased a ticket. We are rebuilding the passenger list for our 50-seat bus. Reserve one ticket for each passenger; earlier reservations will not automatically carry over to this new list. Please do not register the same passenger more than once.

• 8:15 AM: Meet at Piazza Ferrucci, Florence.
• 8:30 AM: Depart Florence by private coach.
• Approximately 9:30 AM: Arrive in San Gimignano for free time to explore.
• 11:30 AM: Depart San Gimignano for Siena.
• Approximately 12:20–12:30 PM: Arrive in Siena. Lunch on your own and an afternoon of independent sightseeing.
• 5:30 PM: Depart Siena for Florence.
• Approximately 6:45 PM: Return to Florence.

Please arrive on time and wear comfortable walking shoes. Expect walking on uneven historic streets. Arrival times are approximate and may vary with traffic.
