Florence Gelato Tasting Tour
Join classmates for a sweet afternoon exploring Florence through one of its favorite traditions: gelato! This one-hour guided walk combines local history, stories, and stops at three Florentine gelaterie.
Along the way, our guide will explain Florence’s connection to the history of gelato, including the role of the Medici family, and introduce the differences between gelato, sorbetto, and affogato.
The tour’s listed stops are Venchi, known for chocolate; Badiani, home of the celebrated Buontalenti flavor; and Strega Nocciola, known for artisanal gelato and hazelnut specialties. At each stop, you can choose and purchase whatever you would like to try while learning about the shops and their traditions.
It’s a chance to discover new flavors, catch up with classmates, and enjoy an afternoon activity without wine or spirits.
