Scottish acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Simon Kempston

Ilkley Manor House welcomes Scottish singer-songwriter and acclaimed acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Simon Kempston for his first concert in Ilkley.

Expect beautifully crafted contemporary songs, intricate guitar work, compelling tenor vocals, and poetic storytelling — plus a few humorous tales from the road. This is an intimate evening not to be missed.

Simon Kempston's songs pair poetic, thought-provoking lyrics with sharp social and political commentary, shaped by his love of travel, architecture and literature. Known for intense, heartfelt live shows, he's toured internationally for over a decade. His latest album, My Dreams Are Theirs (2024), is his most honest and direct collection yet.

In Summer 2023, Simon released his first classical guitar album, Moonrise Over Mostar, following four instrumental acoustic albums. Immerse yourself in his beautifully crafted soundscapes and be transported on a uniquely Scottish musical journey.

Tickets are £15 and may be purchased online via TicketTailor or in person at the Box Office on weekends when Ilkley Manor House is open. Limited tickets may be available on the door (subject to availability).

Doors open at 7:00pm with refreshments available. The performance begins at 7:30pm.
