Join us for a calming day of creativity as we explore the beauty of misty mountains, expressive trees and atmospheric landscapes in beautiful watercolour.

Escape the busyness of everyday life and spend a few peaceful hours immersed in paint, paper and the natural world. In this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop, we'll be creating a series of tranquil landscape studies inspired by rolling hills, distant mountain ranges and the quiet beauty of trees.

You'll be gently guided through a range of watercolour techniques as we explore soft washes, layered colour and expressive brushwork to bring our landscapes to life. Think misty horizons, flowing skies, delicate pine forests and the wonderfully unpredictable effects that make watercolour such a joy to work with.

Rather than focusing on perfection, this workshop is all about slowing down, building confidence and embracing the beautiful spontaneity of the medium.

During the day, we'll explore:

🌲 Creating soft, flowing washes and beautiful colour blends
⛰ Layering colour to create depth and atmosphere in landscapes
🌿 Using simple brush techniques to paint expressive trees and foliage
💧 Exploring wet-on-wet techniques to capture mist, clouds and movement
🎨 Developing confidence with loose, intuitive watercolour painting

Do I need experience?

Not at all. This workshop is completely beginner-friendly, and we'll support you every step of the way. Whether you've never picked up a paintbrush before or you're looking to develop a looser style, you'll be very welcome.

We provide everything you need:

• Watercolour paper
• Professional-quality paints
• Brushes and materials
• Step-by-step guidance
• Apron
• Tea, coffee, cake and biscuits throughout the day

You'll leave with a collection of beautiful landscape studies, along with new techniques and the confidence to continue exploring watercolour at home.

We'll have tea, coffee, cake and biscuits ready for you to enjoy throughout the session — help yourself and settle in for a cosy, creative few hours.

There will be a 30–45 minute break for lunch during our full-day courses. You're very welcome to bring your own food, and we have a fridge and microwave available for you to use. Alternatively, you can order from The Farmers Arms (just a 2-minute drive away) to collect or enjoy there, and there are also a number of lovely local cafés and shops nearby if you'd prefer to head out for a little break.

📸 Photography: We may take photos during the event for marketing. If you'd prefer not to be included, just let us know when you arrive.

🎟️ Tickets: Tickets are non-refundable. With at least 48 hours' notice, we're happy to transfer your booking to another event once (subject to availability). You're also welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else—just let us know their name in advance.
