The Art of Watercolour: Fur & Feathers

Join us for a peaceful day of creativity as we explore the beauty of the natural world through watercolour.

πŸ“… Thursday 14th January
πŸ•™ 10:00am – 2:00pm
πŸ“ Imaginators Creative Studio, Kelsall

As the new year begins and life starts to settle back into its rhythm, there's something wonderfully calming about spending a few hours painting. In this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop, we'll be exploring the delicate textures, colours and character found in some of nature's most beautiful creatures.

You'll be gently guided through a range of watercolour techniques as we learn how to suggest soft fur, layered feathers and expressive details using loose, confidence-building brushwork. Think charming garden birds, woodland wildlife and the joy of bringing animals to life on paper.

Rather than focusing on perfection, this workshop is all about enjoying the process, building confidence and embracing the beautiful unpredictability of watercolour.

During the session, we'll explore:

πŸͺΆ Creating soft, flowing washes to establish shape and form
πŸͺΆ Building layers of colour to suggest depth and texture
πŸͺΆ Simple techniques for painting fur and feathers with confidence
πŸͺΆ Capturing expression and personality through small details
πŸͺΆ Using expressive brushwork to create lively, characterful studies

Do I need experience?

Not at all. This workshop is completely beginner-friendly, and we'll support you every step of the way. Whether you've never picked up a paintbrush before or you're looking to develop a looser style, you'll be very welcome.

We provide everything you need:

β€’ Watercolour paper
