Paperback to Hardback - A Bookbinding Workshop with Bardcore Book Club 📚✨

Turn a favourite paperback into your very own beautiful hardback edition.

We’re so excited to be teaming up with Bardcore Book Club for a cosy evening of books, creativity and bookbinding at the Imaginators Studio!

Bring along a paperback you love and spend the evening transforming it into a completely personalised hardback book — choosing your own materials, colours and finishing details to create an edition that feels completely yours.

No experience needed — we’ll guide you through the whole process step by step.

📚 What We’ll Be Making

You’ll learn how to take an existing paperback book and give it a completely new lease of life by rebinding it as a hardback.

During the workshop, we’ll guide you through preparing your paperback, constructing your new hardback cover and bringing everything together to create your finished book.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity to make it your own, with a selection of book cloth, decorative papers and materials to choose from.

We’ll be working at a relaxed pace and aiming to complete at least one beautifully rebound book during the session. If you’d like to bring a second paperback along too, please do! If time allows, you may have the opportunity to start or rebind another.

What do I need to bring?

Bring one or two paperback books that you’d love to give a hardback glow-up.

Choose an old favourite, a book you love, or even pick something up second-hand especially for the workshop.

We’ll focus on completing your first book, with the possibility of moving onto a second if time allows.

Your ticket includes:

• All bookbinding materials
• Book cloth and decorative papers
• Boards and specialist tools
• Step-by-step tuition

• Your handmade hardback creation to take home

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the evening, so settle in and enjoy a wonderfully cosy few hours of creativity.

🎨 Clothing: Aprons are provided, but please wear clothes you're happy to get paint on.

📸 Photography: We may take photos during the event for marketing. If you'd prefer not to be included, just let us know when you arrive.

🎟️ Tickets: Tickets are non-refundable. With at least 48 hours' notice, we're happy to transfer your booking to another event once (subject to availability). You're also welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else—just let us know their name in advance.

👨‍👩‍👧 Age: Children are welcome when accompanied by a paying adult with their own ticket, unless the event is marked as adults only.
