Imago Vibes presents "Echoes of India - A Journey through Hindustani & Carnatic Music" in association with Gandharva Loka and the Indian Classical Music Society of Ireland (ICMSI). We are delighted to invite you to a captivating afternoon of Indian classical music, showcasing the rich traditions of both Hindustani and Carnatic music.

Join us for a mesmerising performance by distinguished maestros who will take you on a musical journey through the diverse and profound heritage of Indian classical music. This unique concert will feature:

• Hindustani Music: Experience the soul-stirring ragas and intricate rhythms of the North Indian classical tradition with a special performance on the Sarod and Tabla.

• Carnatic Music: Immerse yourself in the devotional compositions and complex talas of the South Indian classical tradition, featuring vocals, violin, and Mridangam.

Artists Performing

Nitish Purohit on Sarod - Nitish is a young and promising Sarod (Indian fretless lute) player from Pune, India, belonging to the revered Seniya Maihar Gharana, a prominent school of Hindustani classical music. He is the disciple of the maestro Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar. Despite his young age, Nitish has already performed at several prestigious venues and music festivals both in India and abroad. His dedication to his craft and his ability to connect with audiences have made him a rising star in the world of Indian classical music.

Debajyoti Sanyal on Tabla - Debajyoti Sanyal from Kolkata, India, is a world-class exponent of the Indian classical tabla (percussion). His training began at age four with his father and continued with luminaries of the tradition, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee and Pandit Shankar Ghosh. He tours regularly nationally and internationally, performing in a variety of contexts, from classical to experimental. He blends extraordinary virtuosity with a subtle nuance of expression.

Sruthi Ravali - Vocals and Violin - Sruthi Ravali is an Indian Carnatic Vocalist from Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, India, now living in Dublin, Ireland. She is a recipient of the prestigious "Naad-Bhed - The Mystery of Sound" award by SPICMACAY & Doordarshan (2013). She is an A-grade artist of All India Radio. She has traveled worldwide and was invited to Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana Festival twice (2006, 2015). She has toured over San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, New York, and Cleveland.

Abhishek Vasu on Mridangam - Abhishek is a young and upcoming Mridangam (South Indian percussion instrument) artist trained under some of the stalwarts of the instrument in India. Abhishek lives in Cavan, Ireland, and has performed at several concerts accompanied the Carnatic vocals, violin, and Bharatnatyam (South Indian dance form).

This afternoon promises to be a celebration of the profound unity in diversity that Indian classical music represents. Whether you are a seasoned aficionado or a curious newcomer, this concert will be an unforgettable experience.
