Surgical Residency Course

BASIC MODULAR PROGRAM:

Our course is split in to 4 main modules, each covering a variety of skills necessary to be able to place Implants confidently and safely.

MODULE 1: AWARDING 24 HRS OF VERIFIABLE CPD

• Course Introduction, Outline & Objectives
• Dental Implant Background, History & Overview
• Consent, and ethics
• Basic Treatment Planning
• Hands-On Implant Training (with models)
• Draping & Sterilisation
• Post-operative Care
• Applied Anatomy & Bone Physiology
• Radiology and CT scan interpretation
• Hands on training on in incision, and suture techniques

MODULE 2: AWARDING 24 HRS OF VERIFIABLE CPD

• Bioengineering and Biomechanics
• Immediate, Early and Delayed Placement/ Loading Protocols
• Comprehensive Treatment Planning
• Occlusion
• Digital Implantology and guided surgery

MODULE 3: AWARDING 40 HRS OF VERIFIABLE CPD

PRACTICAL BASED

• Brazil implant surgical residency - Live Patient Implant Surgeries in a hospital/university environment
• Every patient is fully planned using CBCT and models.
• Minimum of 10 implants placements per student

MODULE 4: AWARDING 10 HRS of VERIFIABLE CPD

• Implant Prosthetics: Management, Articulators/Facebows: when to use them
• Digital vs analogue impressions including various scanners
• Overdentures
• Complications and management

In addition to the above modules, we will hold weekly online meetings for case discussion and planning to help students ensure they get the requisite help in planning.
