Spend a character-filled, connected day with the incredible Billy Kissa.

Acting with Honesty from teacher Billy Kissa (Belgium/Greece) is a 3-hour workshop for any improviser who wants to dive deeper into creating real, heartfelt characters.

This workshop is for actors in improvised theatre who want to enhance their performance abilities and deepen their acting skills. We will explore the fundamental principles of acting, including character development, emotional truth, scene work and apply them to improvisational theatre. With tools borrowed from different acting techniques we will work on our observation skills and we will approach our characters with the honesty and vulnerability that they deserve.

Billy Kissa is a Greek actress living in Brussels, specializing in Improvised Theater. After graduating from the Theater of Arts, Karolos Koun, in Athens, Greece she started working as an actress in scripted theater, teaching and performing improv all over the world. She studied Meisner technique with certified teachers and taught improv and acting to adults and teens. Billy worked with refugees at the "Greek Council for Refugees", is part of the European Network for improvisers “The SIN”, and is director of the All Female Cast Show “Huntress and Healer” and the unscripted play “The Dark Age of Love”. Challenging herself is one of her strongest qualities, with the last challenge being her very recent dive into the terrifying world of stand up comedy.

Finding Theaterplatform PickUp can be a little strange. It's inside NDSM-werf, the giant warehouse building. We'll have a volunteer standing near the entrance to guide you.
