On night six of IMPRO Amsterdam 2026, IMPRO is... Connections.
On night six of IMPRO Amsterdam, we're exploring the connections people make with each other, and how people make connections between ideas.
The night starts at 6:45 in the Blauwe Zaal with our jam Let The Music Play, which connects participants through music of all sorts (entrance gratis).
From 7:45 to 10:15 we're in the main Theaterzaal for our two mainstage shows - Zermos (a physical theatre/dance show that speaks without words) and La Ronde, our ensemble show (a show that examines sexual morality and class ideology).
At 10:30, join us in the Blauwe Zaal for our late night show Blumpkin Abbey, where we see the connections between the lords and staff of an English manor in a classic farce.
ZERMOS
Improv doesn't need a lot of words to say an awful lot.
Les Sémillants' ZERMOS (Zone Exposée aux Risques de Mouvements Spontanés, or Exposed Area of Risk of Spontaneous Movements) is an improvised physical theatre show combining a few words with dance and mimes, all performed to live music. Every show tells a unique story, but always in a style that is musical, burlesque (slapstick), and poetic... and like nothing you've ever seen before.
For fans of: dance, slapstick, moving your body.
La Ronde
The La Ronde is a simple format - one character meets another, who meets another, until the circle closes. But did you know that it has a much deeper history?
Director Simone Ellul's version of the La Ronde harkens back to the origins of the structure - a play written by Arthur Schnitzler in 1897 that examines the sexual morality and class ideology of its day through successive encounters between pairs of characters (before or after a sexual encounter). She combines her experience as an intimacy director with her deep well of improv knowledge to create a show that is honest, intimate, and, dare we say, sexy.
Note: This show covers more mature themes. The performers have rehearsed extensively to ensure their own safety, comfort, and respect for their own boundaries.
For fans of: human connection, honest conversations about intimacy, consent.
Blumpkin Abbey
What's more "connected" than the ecosystem that exists in an English manor?
Blumpkin Abbey presents to you all the passions and tensions of the British class system you never knew you wanted to see. The characters brim with love, hatred, secret yearnings and, possibly, murderous intent. The show spins a complex and surreal (and very funny) web around an event at the manor, accompanied by posh hats, cravats, braces (suspenders), questionable accents, and a healthy dose of class skepticism.
For fans of: Downton Abbey, British humour, silly accents.
