TEST IA 2026 Wednesday 25 February Shows: IMPRO is Communication

Tue 23 Feb 2027 18:45 - 23:00 Zonnehuis, 1033 EK

On night five of IMPRO Amsterdam 2026, IMPRO is... Communication.

On night five of IMPRO Amsterdam, we're taking a look at how both characters and performers communicate.

At 6:45 in the Blauwe Zaal, join us for our jam Object Wok, where every scene is inspired by, well, a wok (entrance gratis).

From 7:45 to 10:15 we're in the main Theaterzaal for our two mainstage shows - Could They Be Wrong, our ensemble show (a group of people need to make a unanimous life or death decision), and Clap Clap (a show where performers clap in and out of 'rehearsal mode' so we can learn what they're thinking).

Finally at 10:30, join us in the Blauwe Zaal for our late night show Conversations We Can't Have, where you have those tough conversations... with puppets.

Could They Be Wrong?

One room. One group. One fatal decision. Could they be wrong?

Could They Be Wrong? is a dramatic improvised play directed by Bodei Brouwer that is inspired by the movies Women Talking and Twelve Angry Men. They’re all equal, they all have a voice, but could they be wrong?

For fans of: Women Talking, Twelve Angry Men, high-tension character dramas.

Clap Clap

An improvised show is always telling two stories at once: the story of the characters, and the story of the performers.

In CLAP CLAP, we get to experience both. At any moment an actor can clap their hands to stop the action, allowing everyone to step into 'rehearsal mode' and reveal a bit of their creative process, whether by commenting on the scene, debating story choices, talking the audience or simply bursting into laughter. Two more claps and we dive back into the improvised story being told.
It's an improvised narrative of spontaneous dramaturgy, alternating between performance and creation modes, that allows the audience a fun peek into the brains of the improvisers.

For fans of: meta narratives, the movie Adaptation, peeking into other people's brains.

Conversations We Can't Have

What if a puppet could say the thing you can’t?

Conversations We Can’t Have is a late-night improv show where hand puppets take on the conversations we dodge in real life—telling your boss to shove it, confessing your love to a secret crush, asking your mom why she disappeared, or having a conversation with your favorite chair -- basically, saying the lines you rehearse in your head but never say out loud.

This isn’t therapy. It’s messy, surreal, and a little risky. Puppets provide joy and comfort. They keep things playful even when the topics get dark, and remind us that there is always room for laughter.

For fans of: the muppets, children's toys in grown-up situations, catharsis.
