Join Claire and Rich from Wayward Improvised Theatre for a variety of games, exercises and scenes designed to boost your stage confidence and help you find the fun in failing.

This open jam is designed for improvisers with an intermediate-and-up level of experience. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and footwear, and come prepared to play!

The jam will run from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., including a 10-minute break. Participants are welcome to arrive anytime after 2 p.m. to hang out, finish their coffee, and chat about improv with the facilitators and other attendees.

*Workshops are for ages 18 years and up.

About your facilitators:

Claire Biddiscombe (she/her) has been involved in improv for over 20 years, and has played and studied with improvisers from around the world. She is a co-founder and Director of Education of Wayward Improvised Theatre, as well as serving as the director of Ottawa Secrets, and as a regular Maestro director. She also created and directs Seeds Improv, and performs with a number of acts including Space Cowboy and IKEA.

Rich Hilborn (he/him) has been performing theatre since age 5. Rich started improvising in 2016, and you might have seen him onstage as part of Quest Friends Forever and Seeds. He is also a board member of Wayward Improvised Theatre, producer and frequent host of the Maestro, and is the North America East Regional Representative for the International Theatresports Institute.

This open jam is hosted by Wayward Improvised Theatre!

Wayward Improvised Theatre (WIT) is Ottawa's newest home for theatrical improv! Founded in 2024, we produce Maestro: Competitive Improv Comedy, as well as a variety of shows that showcase narrative and longform improv.
