National Virtual Small Scale Development Workshop

Mon Feb 1, 2027 5:00 PM - Wed Feb 10, 2027 7:00 PM CST Online, Zoom

We'd like to personally invite you to join us for the Incremental Development Alliance's Small Scale Development Workshop, coming to you virtually on Mondays and Wednesdays (February 1, 3, 8 and 10, 2027) from 5PM – 7PM Central.

Ready to dive in and learn about the fundamentals of small-scale development? This workshop is for anyone who wants to develop small-scale, financially viable real estate projects—or support more of these sorts of projects in your community. Whether you're a first-time builder, a neighborhood leader, or a city staffer looking to strengthen local development, our training will give you the tools to take action.

The workshop is led by professional small-scale developers and IncDev Faculty Members and covers:

  • How to tell what makes a good development project
  • How a building makes money (and when it doesn't)
  • How more local people can participate in solutions rather than feeling shut out of the process

The Small Scale Development Workshop is all about project formation. We take a big picture view of neighborhood-based development to help attendees analyze what makes a good project, how a building makes money, and how small developers interact with the broader ecosystem of professionals in the built environment.

By the end of the Workshop, aspiring developers will feel more prepared to take the first steps on their own project and other neighborhood stakeholders will gain a deeper understanding of how they can support them.
